Welcome,

this is a VMware image of the Linux distro Ubuntu 9.10 that runs in 
the free VMware Player available at:

http://www.vmware.com/download/player/

Install the player, start it, click open and navigate to the 
folder in which you extracted this zip file. Then open the .vmx 
file. After a while you may be asked to log in:

users and passwords
- username: user password: user
- administrative password: user

From there on lean back and enjoy!

- no VMware Tools, but pointer behavior is alright out of the box

Changes made to desktop and apps
--------------------------------

desktop:
- screen resolution: 1024*768
- fonts: 12 pt
- turn off startup apps: update notifier, screensaver, hardware driver check 
- keyboard: add USA as default use the same layout for all windows

Firefox:
- disable Ubuntu addon
- hide the tab bar if only one tab is open
- Javascript: don't allow disabling of the context menu
- default font: DejaVu Sans
- proportional font: Sans Serif
- Serif font: DejaVu Sans
- Sans-serif font: DejaVu Sans
- warning message for *all* sites that want to install add-ons
- don't block questionable sites
- warning messages regarding page encryption: all off
- no caching: 0 MB
- don't check any updates automatically 
  update of Firefox itself can't be disabled anymore
- homepage settings: vm.swingrider.com
- link added: www.swingrider.com
	
file browser:
- list view 
- add delete item
- date format simpler
- preview only files smaller than 100 KB
